What it does

Makes a new S3 bucket: a storeroom for files.

When to use it

To store files. The name must be unique. Stored files cost money each month.

Example

$ aws s3 mb s3://amzn-s3-demo-bucket

Prints make_bucket: s3://amzn-s3-demo-bucket.

$ aws s3 ls

List your buckets.

$ aws s3 ls s3://amzn-s3-demo-bucket

List the files in one bucket.
