aws ec2 run-instances --image-id
aws ec2 run-instances --image-id <ami> --instance-type <type> [--subnet-id <subnet>] [--security-group-ids <sg>]
Risk: Careful
What it does
Rents a new server (an EC2 instance).
When to use it
It costs money while it runs, and its disk costs even when stopped. Set a budget alarm first; pick a small size.
Example
$ aws ec2 run-instances --image-id ami-0abcdef1234567890 --instance-type t3.microOne small server from this starting disk.
$ aws ec2 describe-instancesList your servers and their states.
